Across the northern landscapes of Canada, the Inukshuk stands tall, stones stacked with intention, a marker of presence, guidance, and belonging. It whispers: “I was here.”
For Kalina Digital Media, the Inukshuk becomes more than stone. It becomes a living metaphor for women finding their voices, stacking their stories, and leaving a mark that cannot be erased. Each stone is a story. Each layer is a legacy. Together, they form a monument of resilience and radiance.
When we say “I was here” through our creative platforms, we are declaring:
Presence: Our voices matter, our stories belong.
Legacy: We leave behind markers for the next generation to follow.
Guidance: Like the Inukshuk guiding travelers, our stories guide others toward healing and empowerment.
Kalina Digital Media is an Inukshuk in motion, a digital monument where women’s voices are stacked, celebrated, and preserved.
Women Finding Their Voices
Every woman who contributes to a magazine, every sister in the SiSTARS Network, every Kintsugi Woman who mends her cracks with gold, she is a stone in the Inukshuk.
Together, we build:
A circle of belonging where silence is broken.
A tapestry of voices where diversity shines.
A living archive where future generations can say, “They were here, and they mattered.”
My Why
I do this because presence is power. Because too many women have been silenced, erased, or overlooked. The Inukshuk reminds us: we are here, we are seen, we are remembered.
My creative spirit is my offering. My platform is my altar. And my why is simple: to give back by empowering others to leave their own sacred markers of voice and legacy.
Submit your story: Add your stone to the Inukshuk of voices.
Join the circle: Become part of the SiSTARS Network.
Shine OutLoud: Share your truth, unapologetically.
Together, we rise. Together, we say: “We were here.”
I am here. My voice is sacred. My story is a stone in the monument of legacy.
Inuksuit (plural of inukshuk) are more than landmarks , they’re symbols of guidance, safety, and community. Traditionally built by Inuit peoples, they mark travel routes, sacred sites, and places of gathering. Their presence across Canada reflects a deep respect for Indigenous wisdom and resilience Wikipedia Canada.ca.
The largest inukshuk in Canada is in Schomberg, Ontario, standing 33 feet tall, and you can see it in the video below. I've also gathered other iconic inukshuk locations across Canada, each with a video link to explore their beauty and meaning.
